Tips to keep in mind.

SHIPPED EGGS- Let rest pointed side down 24-48 hrs. before placing in incubator. Candle them to ensure quality of air sac.

★ Don’t wash eggs (if dirty or muddy, can “Lightly scrub” with a dry paper towel

★ Keep your spray bottle in the incubator to ensure the correct temp of water.

★ For cabinet incubators or those with auto turners, follow the same guidelines for table tops, but you can reduce your hand turning to once a day.

★ Use rubber shelf liner in bottom of tabletop incubators.

★ Have a “first aid kit” on hand. ○ Tweezers, small drill bit, small scissors, paper towel, wash cloths, Neosporin without pain medication, sav-a-chick, electrolytes, B-complex vitamin drops. Dropper.

★ Candle your eggs when first cooling as goslings are still warm and active.

★ It can take 24-48 hours from the first internal pip to completely hatch.

★ DO NOT INTERVENE without guidance from an experienced person.

★ Intervening can have serious repercussions such as bleeding out, or unabsorbed yolk sacs.

★ If unabsorbed yolk sac happens...keep it moist. My preferred is to dab on a bit of Bag Balm mixed with Neosporin WITHOUT pain medication. Then use a washcloth and wrap the gosling like a burrito and put in a cup or bowl that it cannot escape from. Give a few hours and repeat if necessary. (Again though reach out for help)

★ Goslings can stay in incubator up to 24 hours.

★ Do not use puppy pads! They can chew them and die!!! Recommended is wood shavings.

★ Add B-Complex to water to help give a immediate boost.

★ Please reach out to others if any problems Please keep in mind that what works for 1 person may not work for another, per regions or conditions within the incubation area. There are many videos on incubation on the National Sebastopol Geese Association Facebook page and YouTube Channel.
